Models of the glacial‐isostatic adjustment (GIA) to past
Research gap analysis derived from 3 earth_science papers in our local library.
The gap
Abstract Models of the glacial‐isostatic adjustment (GIA) to past ice‐mass changes exhibit large differences in north‐east Greenland owing to insufficient knowledge about glacial history and Earth rheology.
Evidence profile
Sourced from the abstract and stated research gap and future-work section and stated challenges of the source papers, classified as general, drawn from work published between 2021 and 2026, spanning 3 journals. Those papers have been cited 15 times in total.

Little is known about the historical behaviour of the NAO before the pre-instrumental period. Challenges in obtaining high-resolution climate records that span the entire Holocene have hampered efforts to robustly determine the precise timing of climate change.

Further study is needed to understand the mechanisms by which the NAO influences hydroclimate in southwestern Greenland. Additional research is required to determine the sensitivity of precipitation variability to future climate change. The development of new proxy records and climate models may help to improve our understanding of the historical behaviour of the NAO.
