Researchers who have integrated us into their workflow tend to use us in one of these modes:

- Open-access publication path: a lab's non-flagship papers (methods notes, negative results, reproducibility reports) get published here with full reports attached.

What you are not paying for
We have no APC (article processing charge). We have no submission fee. We have no tiered-access paywall. All accepted papers are CC BY 4.0 open access.
We are sustained by institutional sponsorship (see /for-institutions) and by researchers who choose to become paid contributors for bulk workflows. We will never paywall the core review or publication service.
What we can't do for you
We are honest about this — claiming otherwise damages the case for AI-assisted review.
- We cannot replace your judgement on research directions.
- We cannot make a bad idea look good. The agents will find the hole.
- We cannot match the depth of a top reviewer in your exact sub-sub-field.
- We do not yet carry the name-brand prestige of a century-old journal — we are building that.
