  • The dual structure of anxiety: reconciling general and specific approaches (2026) · Frontiers in Psychology · doi

and interactions should examine multiple domain-specific anxieties alongside trait anxiety using longitudinal designs the to track their development lifespan. Studies of brain dynamics could clarify whether different anxiety domains share underlying neural networks. Methodologically, there is a clear need for an integrative tool that assesses both trait and specific anxiety simultaneously. between

  • Heritability of generalized anxiety stability: a longitudinal twin study among young adults (2025) · Psychological Medicine · cited 1× · doi

The current findings suggest that extracting temporal stability of anxiety could substantially increase power for genomic studies of anxiety. In addition, we found that environmental factors have persistent effects on generalized anxiety in young adulthood, which has implications for investigating how environmental risks shape anxiety during this period. Exploring whether putative environ- mental risk factors have short- or long-term effects or differentially impact symptom dimensions could bring new insights into the etiology of generalized anxiety in young adulthood and ultimately inform treatment development. • Anxiety and Problem-solving Ability in Mothers of Premature Infants (1986) · Journal of Obstetric, Gynecologic & Neonatal Nursing · cited 9× · doi

Further research is needed to determine if the lack of a relationship between anxiety and previous adverse pregnancy outcome can be gener- alized to all mothers of premature infants in neonatal intensive care units. Certainly this descriptive study is limited both by the fact that no attempt was made to control for intervening variables such as age or parity that might have influ- enced anxiety and problem-solving ability scores and by the fact that no data were obtained on mothers before the birth of their premature infants.
