  These inconsistent findings may indicate that other factors such as coping strategies, social support, or emotion regulation may play a more significant role in shaping the relationship between minority stress and mental health outcomes (Meyer, 2010, 2015). Moreover, it is possible that the inconsistent findings may be linked to differences based on the age range, racial and ethnic composition, and developmental stage of participants included in these studies. Moreover, we found limited evidence to support our hypothesis that there would be racial and ethnic differences in these relationships. Future research in this area is warranted.
