What the literature leaves open

  • In future studies, it would be useful to use a vignette to elicit a positive emotion, considering that some children (especially with low SC) recall emotions from similar situations they have already lived, making the assessment session a source of real distress. The interview itself could also focus on real situations children had already lived. It would also be interesting to assess emotional self-efficaccy and its potential mediational influence on the regulatory process. Finally, it would be productive to assess parents’ regulatory orientations and its relations to children’s focus.
