For journals and publishers
For journals, publishers and research organisations
Employ our research tools in your own editorial workflow: AI review screening, the prior-publication check, research-gap fit and the Journal Finder, through an organisation account and an API. By application, not a sales call.
What you can employ
The same tools researchers use on this site, called from your own system with an organisation key, or used by your editors in the web app.
- AI review screening: 8 specialist agents read a manuscript and return scores, concerns and questions for the authors. Over the API each agent call is 4 credits; in the web app a full review is 30 credits.
- Prior-publication check: a title and abstract checked against CrossRef, PubMed, arXiv, bioRxiv, medRxiv, Europe PMC and Unpaywall and our 4.5M-paper local library, in parallel. It spends no credits; each key has a rate limit.
- Research-gap fit: how a manuscript sits against the current literature. The literature search spends no credits; unlocking a topic's comparison table and gaps is 50 credits.
- Journal Finder: a ranked shortlist of journals for a title and abstract, with predatory-journal flags, for 15 credits a search through an organisation key.
- Pre-Check runs in the web app only for now; its endpoint does not accept API keys yet.
Two ways to work with us
Tools for organisations. An organisation account whose API keys carry exactly the tools you applied for, with its own rate limits and usage per key. The developer documentation lists every endpoint and what each call costs.
Per-article screening (being built, not open yet). Each article you send will be screened three ways: a prior-publication check, the AI review against a fixed score threshold (a mean of 7 out of 10 with no agent below 6), and its position in the current literature, with the report returned to your editors. A dated note on a journal's page in our directory will appear only after 3 articles have passed every check, and never for a venue our index flags as predatory. Applications for it are open now.
Pricing
Tools are priced in credits, at the same rates as for any account.
Per-article screening is not open yet; its pricing is published when it opens.
Packs go on sale when per-article screening opens.
What this is not
We do not publish your articles, and we do not index, rank or accredit journals. Your editors make every editorial decision; our reports are one input to it.
Our journal directory is built from public sources (OpenAlex, Scimago and DOAJ), not from applications, and taking part never changes a journal's ranking or index membership there. Per-article screening, once it opens, will add one thing: after 3 of a journal's articles have passed every screening check, a dated note on the journal's page counting the articles that passed and since when.
What is checked when you apply
The checks run automatically within minutes and the outcome comes by e-mail. A check we cannot complete never counts as passed: it is tried again on the following nights, up to three times, and after that the application is looked at by a person. An application that waits more than 30 days for details we asked for is closed, and you can apply again at any time.
- Each ISSN you give has a valid check digit and is registered at the ISSN portal.
- No predatory flag in our venue index for the journal's ISSN, its title or the publisher's name. A flag ends the application.
- The journal's OpenAlex and DOAJ records, when they exist, are read and listed in the outcome e-mail.
- If you give an OAI-PMH address, it answers an Identify request.
- For information, not as a condition: we read the journal's website for an editorial board, a peer-review policy and its author fees (or that there are none), and list what we found in the outcome e-mail.
- You confirm that editorial decisions stay with the journal and that it follows, or will adopt, the COPE Core Practices.
- A person checks that you run each journal and replies by e-mail; you do not need to add anything to your website. When the journal has a public record (OpenAlex), that record must list every ISSN you give. Your e-mail address and OAI-PMH details are shown to that person, but they never prove it on their own. One journal can belong to one organisation only.
How to apply
The form has four short pages: your organisation, the tools you want, your journals, and four statements to confirm. Questions first? Write to [email protected].
