  • Tourist satisfaction as a mediator between event quality and economic outcomes: evidence from a Silk Road heritage destination (2026) · Frontiers in Sports and Active Living · doi

Particularly noteworthy is the exceptionally strong relationship between (β = 0.91). This coefficient exceeds values typically reported in tourism satisfaction studies (36) and indicates that satisfied event participants in Bukhara exhibit an unusually high propensity to engage in positive word-of-mouth important implications for destination marketing, suggesting that investments in event quality may yield disproportionate returns through promotion. This finding has organic advertising. The sequential mediation path (Quality → Satisfaction → Recommendation → Economic Result) further demonstrates the cascading benefits of quality-oriented activity development strategies.

  • EVALUATING HOSPITALITY ECOSYSTEM COMPONENTS IN A REGIONAL TOURISM DESTINATION: EFFECTS ON TOURIST SATISFACTION AND RECOMMENDATION INTENTIONS (2026) · Baltic Journal of Economic Studies · doi

hospitality ecosystem intentions. Hence, higher levels of tourist satisfaction are expected to boost visitors’ willingness to recommend the destination to others. influence 2.4. Research Gap, Conceptual Model and Hypotheses Previous studies have considerably advanced the understanding of destination competitiveness, service quality, tourist satisfaction and destination loyalty. However, there are still several research gaps. Firstly, destination attributes such as information quality, infrastructure, accommodation, food services and leisure opportunities are frequently examined in isolation rather than as interconnected elements of a wider destination system (Mior Shariffuddin et al., 2022; Xu & Au, 2023). Consequently, their combined influence on tourist satisfaction has received limited attention. Secondly, while the Hospitality Ecosystem approach offers a thorough framework for analysing tourism destinations as integrated systems (Philipp et al., 2022), its application in practice is still limited, especially in regional tourism contexts. Thirdly, although the positive relationship between tourist satisfaction and intention to recommend is well established, relatively few studies have examined this relationship within the context of an integrated hospitality ecosystem. In order to address these gaps, the present study develops a conceptual framework grounded in Information Quality Theory, Destination Competitiveness Theory, Service Quality Theory, and Experience Economy Theory. The model posits that information quality, infrastructure quality, food service quality, accommodation quality, and leisure service quality, as pivotal components of the hospitality ecosystem, exert a positive influence on tourist satisfaction, which in turn fosters heightened recommendation intentions. The broader destination context and the actors within the ecosystem provide the conceptual setting of the model, but are not hypothesised directly. The proposed framework is presented in Figure 1. H1. Hospitality ecosystem components positively influence tourist satisfaction. H2. Tourist satisfaction positively influences recommendation intentions.
