Arising from recommended: the findings, the following are agencies i. The Nigerian Meteorological Agency and agricultural should extension strengthen climate monitoring systems and improve the timely dissemination of seasonal rainfall and temperature forecasts to farmers in Gwagwalada Area Council, given the demonstrated divergence rainfall and temperature trends across the upper, middle and lower zones. in ii. Agricultural extension services should assist farmers in aligning planting calendars with the onset and seasonal distribution of rainfall specific to their zone, rather than applying a uniform planting recommendation across the Area Council. iii. Research rainfall intensify flowering, given institutions should the development and dissemination of maize varieties tolerant of both moisture stress during the reproductive stage and elevated the temperature during demonstrated sensitivity of maize yield to JJAS and MAM maximum temperature. including Post-harvest handling improved drying and storage facilities, should be extended to farmers in the upper and rot middle zones associated with increased OND rainfall during the harvest period. the maize support, reduce to iv. The cultivation of second-crop corn will continue to play a strategic role for Paraná's agribusiness in the coming decades. However, the intensification of climate change, coupled with the increased occurrence of extreme events, is expected to pose new challenges to agricultural production. Projections indicate an increase in the frequency of drought periods, heat waves, irregular rainfall, and changes in the spatial distribution of frosts, factors that could compromise the productive stability of the crop (IPCC, 2023). In this scenario, the development of hybrids with greater productive stability becomes a priority for breeding programs. The combination of tolerance to abiotic stresses and resistance to the main phytosanitary problems, especially the corn leafhopper and the corn stunt complex, should constitute one of the main objectives of breeding companies and public research institutions.
